3 THINGS RETIREES SHOULD PACK WHEN THEY TRAVEL

I’m taking advantage of the flexibility in retirement to travel to places on my bucket list.  Iceland, Belgium, and Italy are on tap for this year.

I’ve learned that 3 things should always be in my suitcase as an older but adventurous traveler.

1.      Compression socks.  Essential for long flights to improve circulation, reduce leg swelling, and prevent blood clots.  They apply gradual pressure that helps blood circulate to the heart.  You want socks that are snug but not uncomfortable.  They should not pool at the ankles. Check out these top picks for compression socks.

2.      Dermatone Outdoor Protection. This product protected my “older” skin from wind, cold, and sun.  Even on my latest trip to Iceland. Available in different sizes.

3.      Melatonin. Catch some z’s on international flights and make it easier to get some sleep in new locations.  Melatonin comes in multiple forms.  I like the gummies---they taste good, the dosage can be adjusted easily, and they work for me.

Enjoy travelling in comfort as a retiree by packing some of these essentials.
